Hello Everyone

 

How are you all this week.  Please see what activities and events and opportunities are coming up as we move to May.

 

  • Fedcap – please see the latest information shared on how they can help everyone that is looking for a job role or returning to work and what their offer is.  If you would like any further details, please come back to us or speak to them directly.
  • SPARKS, Wingate Centre – please see the latest poster which shares some ideas of what they offer, sharing details about all of their activities and opportunities including some new ones like the Boccia and also family sessions on a Saturday.  They have full changing facilities with hoist and a café that is opening during the week.
  • Princes Trust Macclesfield – are currently recruiting for the forthcoming 12 week programme starting the 20th May so I have attached the poster with all the information but in addition to this Chris and the team are looking for another community project to support in the local area which will be part of the programme this is where the young people get involved in giving back to their local community, they can help with both outdoor and indoor projects.  If you have some ideas, please get in contact with Chris.
  • Time out Group – please see the attached activities for this week coming up, and along with this I have also attached details of a current Community Volunteer Role the team are actively looking to fill and their TOG Trips for May.
  • SUSO – have shared with us what activities are coming up for May which I have attached. 
  • Wishing Well, Let’s Get Social – here is this month’s activities for Thursday evenings, this week due to the election’s going on within Cheshire East, The Georges Centre is being used so there is no meet up, but as there are 5 weeks in May the good news is there is still lots coming up.
  • The Guild, Wilmslow – please see the latest poster with details on the monthly social group for those with memory loss and their carers coming up this week on the 1stMay at 1.30pm.
  • Adult Colouring, Wilmslow – please see the attached poster with the weekly colouring group open to everyone, you can take your own pencils and pens and pictures to do, or you will find materials there to join in.
  • Cheshire East Ranger Service – please see the latest information about the events coming up for May, open to all abilities.
  • Just Drop In – have shared with us this months Newsletter with activities for young people the team have lots of opportunities including counselling and life skill learning and there are courses and support for the parents too. They offer help to those with SEN up to the age of 25, they also offer outreach sessions in various locations too within the east of the borough.
  • Choice Support, Supported Loving Event and Partridges Day Service – please see the attached calendar with what is coming up for May at the day opportunity in Smallwood, along with this, I have included a poster as there is an event they are hosting on the 20th May and would love our adults and providers/PA’s to go along and learn more about friends and relationships called ‘Supported Loving’.  During the afternoon for the event Choice Support are offering crafts for the adults whilst the staff attend the second session.
  • Wirral Walking Festival – throughout the month of May one of our neighbouring authorities is running a walking festival with walks for all abilities across various locations so if you are planning a day out somewhere please follow the link for more information Wirral Walking Festival
  • BSL Course, Walthew House, Stockport – as we approach Deafness Awareness Week, please see the attached information one of my parents kindly shared with me to send to you all for anyone that would like to attend an Introduction to BSL course.
  • Everybody Health and Leisure presents ‘2024 Everybody Games’ – please see the attached link to find out more about this 3-day extravaganza open to everyone to take part in the Everybody Games.  They are looking for community groups of all ages and abilities to join in with this fun. 2024 Everybody Games: Team Registration Opens for June Celebration Event • Everybody Health and Leisure

  • Supported Internship Information Evening – please see the attached flyer about the up-and-coming information evening open to all parents/carers and the young person with SEND to come along and find out more.  The event is aimed at aged 12 and above.
